THE INSIDER SAYS: “Replaced has been one of those Indie games in the public eye for years. YEARS! The eye-grabbing art style, the 2.5D platforming action, and incredibly cinematic cyberpunk world have been teasing us. Now, it’s finally here.”
Go figure that some corporation has sinister secrets. That’s the underlying conspiracy behind Replaced, a cyberpunk adventure running through an alternate 1980s America. You take on the role of R.E.A.C.H. — an AI trapped inside a human body. We’re tempted to dip into the story, but don’t want to spoil it for when you start playing. What we will salute, that’s plain to see, is the pixel art amplified by newer visual effects.
While the game isn’t out yet, a quick hat’s off to the squad at Sad Cat Studios. It’s tough enough being so squarely in the spotlight for something you’re making, but when you’re an indie that attention just feels like there’s so much more on the line. That said, what we’ve seen so far has us looking forward to getting hands on the finished game.
Don’t take our word for it. Play the demo. Support the studio. Enjoy tearing down the system.
INSIDE LOOKS:
- The game’s development was impacted because of the Russo-Ukrainian War and the team had to relocate to continue production.
