G2 Extend Hans Sama LEC Contract Through to 2028

G2 Esports have announced a two-year contract extension for its League of Legends pro Steven ‘Hans Sama’ Liv.

Hans Sama’s contract was due to run out after LoL Worlds this year, but will now last through to the end of the 2028 season.

The League of Legends pro recently helped the team to its 19th domestic title after winning the Spring Split Playoffs, the ninth of his career.

He is the second G2 player to extend their contracts to 2028, after G2 offered jungler Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan a new contract back in February.

Hans Sama has established himself as one of the strongest ADCs in Europe, competing in his ninth professional season.

Which is why there was so much surprise when Team France’s Esports Nations Cup LoL roster didn’t include him.

France’s coach, Quentin ‘Zeph’ Viguié, opted for his Karmine Corp player Caliste ‘Caliste’ Henry-Hennebert.

So far this year, Hans Sama has continued a strong duo with his support, Lampros ‘Labrov’ Papoutsakis.

The duo helped G2’s phenomenal First Stand run, sweeping both LCK teams Gen.G and BNK FEARX.

Now, G2 are headed into LoL MSI as EMEA’s first seeds and will be looking to go one further than their second-place finish at First Stand.

Hans Sama’s Impressive Career

Hans began competing at the top level in 2017 after helping Misfits Gaming earn promotion into the EU LCS.

That year, they qualified for Worlds and infamously pushed SKT T1 to five games and just narrowly fell short of a major upset.

He then had a long wait for his first trophy and had to move to North America for it, winning the LCS Lock In 2020 with Team Liquid.

G2 then brought Hans back to Europe in 2023 and have won numerous LEC trophies together since.

Meanwhile, G2 legend Luka ‘Perkz’ Perković is back with the team in a coaching role.
