There are a lot of different types of Pokémon Champions teams to try, and few are as fun as Trick Room strategies.
Trick Room is a move that always goes last and makes it so that for the next five turns, the slowest Pokémon on the field go first.
Trick Room then leads to slow, heavy-hitters trying to take down multiple Pokémon as quickly as possible to make the most of those five turns.
To do this, you need a Pokémon that can safely set up the move, like Farigiraf and its Armor Tail ability, and a slow sweeper like Torkoal, which deals spread damage with Eruption.
Here are four examples of Trick Room teams to try for yourself in Pokémon Champions ranked.
Tournament-Winning Mega Golurk

This Mega Golurk team won a 173-player tournament back in April with the safest Trick Room options and strong meta counters.
As previously mentioned, Farirgiraf is likely the strongest Trick Room setter thanks to its ability plus Dark type makes it immune to Prankster.
Torkaal is a great spread sweeper, while Mega Golurk is difficult to stop as its Unseen Fist ability goes through Protect, meaning your opponent can’t stall.
Incineroar and Sneasler are both strong leads to support Farigiraf with Fake Out, though you can get cheeky and turn one Parting Shot to get Mega Golurk onto the field for all five Trick Room turns.
Torkoal and Venusaur are also a good lead against both Sun teams and bulky threats which you don’t think you can Trick Room into immediately, making use of Venusaur’s Sleep Powder to neutralise threats.

YouTuber ‘foofootoo’ created this genius team, which takes advantage of Slowking’s signature move, Chilly Reception.
The move both sets up snow, which boosts the defence of all ice types by 50% and switches Slowking out, allowing Mega Crabominable to come in and wreak havoc with Ice Hammer and Close Combat.
Typically, you’ll want to start with Slow King with Inceneroar to use Fake Out so that Slow King has space to Trick Room, then use Chilly Reception.
Though when Inceneroar is a bad lead, Tsareena is a great choice as a high-damage Pokémon immune to priority moves.
Hatterence is another Trick Room setter that can then sweep as well with Fairy Feather boosting Dazzling Gleam’s spread damage.
And Camerupt is an even slower sweeper to counter both opposing Trick Room teams and Mega Charizards.

This team from content creator and five-time Regional Championship winner Aaron ‘Cybertron’ Zheng is all about spread damage.
Mega Chimeco can Helping Hand or deal spread damage with Boomburst, which Soundproof Kommo-O and Ghost-type Chandelure are both immune to.
Those sweepers will also then use additional spread moves like Clanging Scales or Heatwave.
Mudsdale can also Earthquake with Chimeco being immune thanks to Levitate.
Rotom also has Levitate and can Volt Switch on turn one to bring in your chosen sweeper for the start of Trick Room.

If you’ve ever wished that your sweeper could attack twice in one turn, you’re in luck.
Oranguru’s signature move, Instruct, forces a Pokémon to immediately use its most recently used move.
In this team made by content creator Kabuki, this allows Mega Feraligatr to one-shot both opponents in one turn with two Double Edges.
Mega Feraligatr’s new Pokémon ability Dragonize turns Normal-type moves into Dragon-type moves and boosts their power by 20% on top of STAB, leading to ludicrous damage.
Or you can have Torkoal use Eruption twice to ensure that both opponents die, even if they have Focus Sash.
Plus, you have Farigiraf as a safer Trick Roomer and Incineroar and King Gambit to support with their usual shenanigans.
