Esports World Cup qualification to be decided at DreamLeague Season 29
DreamLeague Season 29 is the final event of the ESL Pro Tour that will contribute points towards qualification for the $2,000,000 Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 tournament.
So far, seven teams have qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 tournament, with five teams assuring their spot through unassailable positions in the EPT Leaderboard, in addition to Spirit, who are invited as defending champions, and Vici Gaming, who qualified via their ESL Challenger China Season 3 victory.
So far, the teams that have qualified for the Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 tournament are:
- Tundra Esports – 14,510 EPT Points
- Team Yandex – 10,400 EPT Points
- Xtreme Gaming – 9560 EPT Points
- Aurora Gaming – 8230 EPT Points
- Parivision – 8210 EPT Points
- Team Spirit – Defending Champions
- Vici Gaming – ESL Challenger China Season 3 Champions
That leaves seven spaces left to be decided by EPT Points, with a further 10 positions coming from the June qualifiers to make up the remainder of the 24 spots at the event.
MOUZ and OG are currently sitting within the EPT Leaderboard spots for EWC, but are crucially missing the event after defeats in the Western European and Southeast Asian qualifiers, respectively.
That opens up opportunities for teams like the former Heroic roster, Rekonix, NAVI, South America Rejects, and Nigma Galaxy to sneak into those spots.
Teams that are currently situated within invite range, and are attending DreamLeague Season 29, include Falcons, Liquid, BetBoom, Virtus.pro, and GamerLegion, all of whom will hope to assure their places at EWC with decent results at the event.
