Fortnite Star Wars Droid Tycoon Patch Notes: All Buffs & Changes in v1.06

Star Wars Droid Tycoon continues to take the Fortnite world by storm, and another update has dropped with v1.06, highlighting several changes in the patch notes.

Launched in Fortnite as part of Epic Games‘ ongoing relationship with Disney and Star Wars, Droid Tycoon has quickly become one of the most popular modes in the game, with a peak concurrent player number of over 90,000.

If you’re addicted to the grind in Droid Tycoon, Insider Gaming has all the details on the latest patch notes.

The headline change from the latest update to Star Wars Droid Tycoon, which dropped on May 6 with v1.06, is a further buff to the Upgrade Chips grind.

Previously, only obtainable as Daily Mission rewards and by collecting in the overworld, a prior update introduced Upgrade Chips as a reward for selling Gold, Diamond, and Rainbow Droids, and that return has been boosted further, with the amount received increasing.

Additionally, collecting Upgrade Chips in the overworld now yields one to three Upgrade Chips at a time, and the update also buffs Astromech Mission Rewards, Legendary Droid stats, and more.

A tease for future updates was also shared, with the developers “working hard to improve Missions and Upgrade Chips for high Rebirth players.”

  • Pickup Upgrade Chips can now give 1-3 instead of always just 1.
  • Selling a Gold / Diamond / Rainbow Droid now grants significantly more Upgrade Chips.
  • The Legendary & Mythic Astromech Missions have had their time reduced.
  • Astromech Mission Rewards have been buffed (better chance for better variants)
  • Some Legendary Droids have had their stats increased.
  • Adjusted start time for BB-8 Event:
    – 10 AM ET Saturday
    – 10 AM ET Sunday

When is The Next Droid Tycoon Update?

The next update for Star Wars Droid Tycoon has not been scheduled officially, but the sequence of previous updates suggests a timeline of when to expect it.

Since its release on May 1, Droid Tycoon has seen updates on May 3, May 5, and May 6. Back-to-back daily updates may not be the norm going forward, but there’s a decent chance a fresh update could arrive later today, or tomorrow, on May 8.

The upcoming BB-8 Event this weekend opens the door for new content, which may need to be loaded into the game with a fresh update, and there’s also a mysterious area near the Cantina highlighting new content that may be around the corner.

Either way, it’s clear the developers are pushing on to bring improvements and changes to Droid Tycoon, capitalizing on its popularity.
