Fortnite continues to get a regular slew of updates and, following on from the major South Park collab introduced earlier this month, a new game mode, dubbed Pimlico, is set to be added.
Regular content drops in Fortnite often include new game modes, ranging from permanent additions, like Fortnite OG and LEGO Fortnite, to temporary modes, including the recently departed Delulu.
Pimlico is the latest mode set to be added to Fortnite, and Insider Gaming has details on everything we know so far.
What is ‘Pimlico’ in Fortnite?
Pimlico is the working title of the new Crown Jam game mode coming to Fortnite, which ties in with another Epic Games title, Fall Guys.
A full reveal of the mode is set to take place on January 21, but details have been leaked early that showcase a breakdown of exactly what the mode will entail.
The 3v3 limited-time mode is a mixture of basketball and football, where players control Fall Guys beans to face off against other opponents, and the court features a host of obstacles to avoid, as well as power-ups to utilize and aid your team in the push for victory.
During the game, players build-up ‘Hype’ to use the power ups, which feature an ability to go super-sized, deployable jump pads, and a ‘Confetti Crash’ that fires a ball of confetti into opposition players.
Players will be randomly placed into one of six teams, though it’s unclear whether the set team will be permanent, or whether it will be randomized at the start of each match.
When is Crown Jam Released in Fortnite?
Crown Jam releases in Fortnite on Friday, January 23, and will only be playable for an extremely limited time.
The mode will be removed from Fortnite on February 9, so there’s still plenty of time to claim all of the exclusive rewards that will be available in the mode.
A full reveal of the mode will take place on Wednesday, January 21, unveiling exactly what players can expect, and there’s sure to be a slew of new information.
