Fortnite Might Get Finishing Moves Soon, Mirroring Call of Duty

If you’ve ever knocked someone on Fortnite and wanted to run over and execute a hilarious finishing move, you might be in luck right now. It has been stated by notable Fortnite leakers that Epic Games is working on animated finishing moves in the game, mirroring the mechanic that Call of Duty has been finessing for years.

It was claimed in a post on social media that players will get ‘locked’ into a synced animation and that there will be quests tied to finishing downed players.

Is Fortnite Getting Finishers?

In a post on social media, HYPEX, a notable Fortnite leaker, expanded on recent posts suggesting that finishers are coming to Fortnite. It was claimed that Epic is creating finishing moves and plans to implement them with the following considerations:

  • You’ll be able to finish knocked players
  • Both players get locked into a synced animation
  • Multiple animations can be added to the game
  • “Finish Downed Players” quests will be added

Call of Duty has boasted finishing moves for years, and they’re typically added with new cosmetic bundles, pop culture crossovers, and battle passes as unlockable rewards. We’ve seen some hilarious and bizarre finishing moves surface over the last few years, taking things from simple executions to convoluted elimination animations complete with props.

In another post, user ‘vixenovaa‘ suggested that finishers might be ‘THE BIG FEATURE OF CHAPTER 8’, but this is unconfirmed at present. It likely won’t be long before it’s addressed, though.
