The first mid-season update of Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 has been deployed, which includes the drop of five new Sprites into the game, one of which is the Striker Sprite.
The Sprite collection mechanic has proven to be one of the most popular additions to Fortnite this season, and Epic Games is capitalizing with a fresh drop, which includes a Striker Sprite that is a clear reference to the ongoing World Cup.
The mechanics to obtaining it are different, however, but Insider Gaming has all the information you need.
How to Get a Striker Sprite
The Striker Sprite in Fortnite is obtained by scoring a goal at the soccer pitch POI in Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 3, with the exact location shown in the image above.
After scoring a goal, confetti will appear, followed by the Striker Sprite, which is then equippable. If you’re playing with friends, each player can obtain a Striker Sprite by scoring for themselves.
Alternatively, you can also obtain a Striker Sprite by eliminating a player who has it equipped or in their inventory, which may be the best method initially, as players will flock to the soccer pitch POI to grab the Sprite for their collection.
One positive, however, is that there is an Extraction Point in the middle of the POI, so you can call it in ahead of time to make sure it’s ready to dump the Striker Sprite into once you have obtained it.
Can You Find a Striker Sprite in Chests?
No, the Striker Sprite will not appear in Chests like the majority of other Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 7, Season 3, and can only be spawned by scoring a goal at the soccer pitch POI. This is what’s expected though, and hasn’t been confirmed 100%.
As mentioned, however, you can also obtain it by eliminating a player who has the Striker Sprite equipped or in their inventory, or pick it up from another player who drops it. With the latter approach, it’s easy to trade with friends to complete your Sprite collection.
Don’t forget that you need to Extract a Striker Sprite to unlock it in your collection, which provides the ability to purchase a new one from the Sprite store if you lose yours.
It’s recommended that you Extract any new Sprite you unlock as soon as possible, avoiding the risk of losing it, as once it’s unlocked, you’ll always have access to it.
