Fntastic Shutting Down A Week After The Day Before Launch

Fntastic The Day Before

Developer and publisher Fntastic has just posted a new tweet announcing that they will officially close, following the financial failure of The Day Before.

“Today, we announce the closure of Fntastic studio,” the statement begins. “Unfortunately, The Day Before has failed financially, and we lack the funds to continue. All income received is being used to pay off debts to our partners.”

Fntastic also notes that the future of both The Day Before and their multiplayer horror game Propnight are now in question.

“We invested all our efforts, resources, and man-hours into the development of The Day Before, which was our first huge game,” the studio’s statement said. “We really wanted to release new patches to reveal the full potential of the game, but unfortunately, we don’t have the funding
to continue the work.”

They continued: “We apologize if we didn’t meet your expectations. We did everything within our power, but unfortunately, we miscalculated our capabilities. Creating games is an incredibly challenging endeavor.”

The Day Before has received a considerable amount of backlash since its release. This is due to both technical and behind-the-scenes issues.

It was often billed as an open-world MMO, and many players were frustrated when they discovered that the game boils down to an extraction shooter. Naturally, players did not appreciate being misled.

However, The Day Before was also troubled by a variety of bugs, resulting in something that was deeply ineffective.
