PAX East is one of the gaming calendar’s biggest events. This year’s show features the first-ever Mafia: The Old Country gameplay trailer, and we finally get to see what 2K and Hangar 13 have been working on.
Opening Night Live from Gamescom 2024 revealed Mafia: The Old Country. It may not be called “Mafia 4,” but make no mistake—it is. Like other Mafia games, expect laundering, murdering, and an engaging story that looks to rival any Scorsese classic.
We’ve not seen much from Mafia: The Old Country to date. This changes at PAX East 2025 as 2K has declared: “The silence is nearly over.”

We learned this exciting news courtesy of the Mafia: The Old Country X page. It boldly declares: “Get ready – May 8 marks the next chapter.”
It also discloses that the: “Official Gameplay Trailer drops at 11 AM ET / 4 PM BST.” If you’re a Mafia fan, you need to clear your calendar for this date and time.
A developer panel will take place three hours after the trailer’s premiere. This should fill in any extra gaps or questions people might have about Mafia: The Old Country, its gameplay, and anything else.

Mafia 3 isn’t as revered as other entries in the series. Here’s hoping 2K and Hangar 13 can get the franchise back on track and regain its crown as the king of kingpins when its release date hits.
