Fallout 76, Bethesda Game Studios’ post-apocalyptic MMORPG, is shaping up to receive a stellar Bombs Drop Day this year. It’s the most important day in the wider Fallout calendar, as it celebrates when the Great War took down most of the human race in the franchise’s universe. In Fallout 76, it often heralds sales, exclusive giveaways, limited-time events, and more.
In the last couple of weeks, the game’s player count picked up as Bethesda pushed out a relatively major update, bringing users back into the fold in anticipation of Bombs Drop Day.
Fallout is Preparing To Go Bigger Than Ever
Next year is Fallout’s thirtieth anniversary, and it’s set to be huge. We’re on the precipice of finding out more information about Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas remastered, and we know that Fallout 5 is officially in pre-production.
Fallout 76 is about to get a massive expansion that takes fans back to Raven Rock, and Fallout Shelter is chugging along quite nicely in the background. Additionally, next year should yield the third season of the award-winning live-action television show from Prime Video.

Last month, Bethesda Game Studios rolled out the Slasher Update in Fallout 76, and it has proven to be a hit with fans. On Steam, the game’s player count hit a concurrency peak not seen since April, and while it petered off, it’s still looking better than it has all summer.
Bethesda has yet to reveal what’s coming to the Fallout universe this Bombs Drop Day, but we can expect boosted XP events in Fallout 76, some sales, and perhaps an update on what’s coming next in the pipeline of games I’ve outlined above.
