Escape from Tarkov Casus Belli Event is Locked Behind ‘Wipe Wall’

Battlestate Games has pushed live an all-new event in Escape from Tarkov dubbed ‘Casus Belli’, which is Latin for ’cause for war.’ It extends the previous events we’ve seen with smugglers popping up across Tarkov, but this time, Pillagers have come to roost in the Norvinsk region.

The event runs from today until April 15th, and fans of the pioneering extraction shooter are working now to uncover the string of missions associated with the event. As always, the introductory task, simply named Casus Belli, is the easiest and allows you to get to grips with the fundamentals of the event.

Latest Escape from Tarkov Event Adds New Enemies

When you venture into Escape from Tarkov today, you’ll notice that a new event has kicked off. However, to access the event, you’ll need to have either made your account or wiped your account after the 1.0 release, which landed on November 15, 2025.

If you’re playing on a PvE account and you’ve not wiped your profile (which wasn’t forced when the 1.0 release came around), you’ll find that you can’t access Casus Belli.

Admittedly, that should block the tiniest minority imaginable from playing the event, as almost everyone in the Escape from Tarkov ecosystem will have wiped several months ago. If you main PvP, you had no choice, and if you play PvE, you would have had to wipe to access the 1.0 content, including the new campaign.

It might be obvious, but the new Escape from Tarkov event is available to both PvE and PvP players, which means everyone can take advantage of the new entertainment on offer.

The first task is the one we know about right now, and it requires users to eliminate five Pillagers across Tarkov’s maps and return three found-in-raid painted CQCM masks, which are worn by the Pillagers.

We have a guide detailing how to complete this task and the follow-up ones.
