Unreal Engine 6 Will Reduce Tedious Development Tasks With AI
During the State of Unreal presentation on June 17, Epic revealed how the next era of its engine is shaping up differently from its predecessors. It stated that over the next two years, UE5 and Unreal Editor for Fortnite will be merged to create Unreal Engine 6. They also mentioned that they will be introducing integration with AI models, such as Claude and Gemini, and an effort to reduce the redundancy of game development.
“Our goal for UE6 is to greatly reduce the tedious work in authoring content to leave more time for creative exploration, and increase the amount of iterations a team can make to polish their content. UE6 will ship with tools and workflows where you can choose to bring your own favorite models, battle-tested against internal development and in UEFN,” Epic said (via VGC)
