After a few delays, golf fans now know when they can play in the virtual majors as the EA Sports PGA Tour release date has finally been announced.
Launching worldwide on March 24, 2023, EA Sports PGA Tour features all four of the PGAs Major Championships. In addition to the release date, EA Sports released a full gameplay trailer that takes a look at everything the game will have to offer when it becomes available.
EA Sports PGA Tour features over 30 licensed golf courses including Augusta National Golf Club, Pebble Beach Golf Links, The Old Course at St Andrews Links, Torrey Pines, and more. The studio utilized drones and helicopters to scan courses to develop accurate terrain for each of the courses within the game.
What Does EA Sports PGA Tour Offer?
The game features a career mode that EA Sports says uses an “RPG-like progression system”. The mode, dubbed ‘Road to the Masters’, sees players create their custom golfer and hone their craft on the courses in the game.
“With 20 shot types available as players progress in the game, they can enhance their skill set for driving, approach, short game, or putting, depending on their style,” EA Says. “Players will be able to compete to become a major champion, and take on the PGA TOUR’s best events in the season-long chase for the FedExCup, as well as conquer the top Amateur Championships including the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the U.S. Amateur, and other elite international amateur events.”
The game also features the LPGA Tour, The Players Championship, the FedExCup Playoffs, accurate PGA Tour pro playstyles, and more.
EA Sports PGA Tour will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S when it launches in March. Players who preorder the game can play as early as March 21.
