EA confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be the cover athlete for the FC 26 Ultimate Edition, meaning the Swedish legend is finally returning to Ultimate Team.
Fans already have a general idea of what to expect from FC 26, thanks to leaks. There will reportedly be 12 new ICONS coming to the upcoming title, including Alex Morgan, Andres Iniesta, Toni Kroos, and Marcelo.
Meanwhile, rumors suggest the addition of eight new Heroes, featuring the likes of Daniele De Rossi, Ricardo Quaresma, and Jill Scott. One of the rumored ICONs has now been officially confirmed, as Ibrahimovic is back.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic Named Ultimate Edition Cover Athlete

EA Sports confirmed that Ibrahimovic is the cover athlete for the FC 26 Ultimate Edition. The announcement also confirmed that the reveal trailer will air on July 16. Fans can find the trailer on the EA FC YouTube channel.
And, to help hold you over until FC 26, Ibrahimovic is coming to FC Mobile later this week. Ibrahimovic last appeared in FIFA 23, and he was removed from the game after retiring.
Some fans feared that they would never see the striker again, given his tumultuous relationship with EA. Ibrahimovic was outspoken in 2021 about EA using his name and likeness without his permission, and the development team clapped back in a strong statement shared with Forbes.
That being said, Ibrahimovic’s appearance on the upcoming cover confirms that the dispute has been resolved. As for who will be on the Standard Edition, Real Madrid superstar Jude Bellingham and Bayern star Jamal Musiala will reportedly be co-cover athletes.
