EA Has Largest Team Ever Working On New Battlefield Game

EA has more people working on the new Battlefield game than at any point in the franchise’s history, according to CEO Andrew Wilson. The statement came during the company’s latest quarterly earnings call on Tuesday evening.

“This is the largest Battlefield team in franchise history,” he said. “A few weeks ago, I was visiting with the teams, and I couldn’t be more excited about what they showed and what we were able to play.”

In April, EA announced that Motive — the studio behind Star Wars: Squadrons and the Dead Space Remake — would be moved over to work on the development of Battlefield. The studio is also working on the upcoming Iron Man game.

As far as the new Battlefield game, Wilson is happy with the game’s progress and is confident about its success when players get their hands on it.

“I’ve just spent a whole bunch of time with the collective Battlefield team playing what they’re building and it is going to be another tremendous live service,” he said.

The next game in the Battlefield series is rumored to be revealed at some point in 2024. Recently, EA confirmed that Season 7 of Battlefield 2042 would be the final season of the game.

  • Live service battlefield will fail. The next battlefield should have single player. 🙂

  • Problem is they did this with BF2042 and it was a disaster. This will either go down the same root of too many cooks or might be decent with the extra manpower. Still it is annoying to see studios being pulled away from their own projects just to work on Battlefield

  • And it could be another massive flop! The only way this does well is if there’s interest and if COD seriously flops again. If this does flop then I don’t know what EA does.

  • Microsoft should buy EA give these guys Perfect Dark since the game is in no way ready and these guys could probably release something before the end of the generation also have BioWare make Fable.
