Dead By Daylight has remained one of the most popular titles ever since it first released nine years ago, and we’ve got all the details on crossplay availability in the title.
With regular updates, including an Assassin’s Creed Shadows collab earlier this year, Dead By Daylight continues to be one of the most played games worldwide, featuring many characters and killers from popular culture and horror.
As a title available on several platforms, crossplay availability is a big question surrounding the title, and we’ve got all the details you need on the feature in Dead By Daylight.
Does Dead By Daylight Have Crossplay?

Yes, Dead By Daylight offers full crossplay, allowing players across all platforms to play together.
Crossplay has been available in Dead By Daylight for several years, having been introduced in August 2020. Initially, crossplay was available across Steam, Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 coming later after they were released.
Dead By Daylight’s crossplay support includes the Cross-Friends feature, allowing players to create a friends list that includes players on any platform.
Having been initially released in 2016, crossplay was a highly requested feature before its introduction four years later and has been a core mechanic of the title since, with further updates to the feature coming last year.
Does Dead By Daylight Have Cross-Progression?
Yes, Dead By Daylight fully supports cross-progression, allowing you to play on the same profile on any platform.
While crossplay was introduced in 2020, cross-progression was only added to Dead By Daylight in July 2024, although there are some exceptions to the feature.
Shared progression and shared inventory are available across all platforms, but shared paid currency and shared DLC are not available on Nintendo Switch.
It remains to be seen whether cross-progression will change following the release of Nintendo Switch 2, though there is no news about an enhanced version for the console releasing.
If an enhanced version of Dead By Daylight is released for Nintendo Switch 2, it could be the perfect opportunity to add the two missing cross-progression aspects to the platform. For now though, we’ll have to wait and see if anything is in the works.
