For years, Nvidia’s Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology has been at the front of the gaming conversation. From the “fake frames” it generates to whether or not it’s truly good for gaming, there’s no shortage of opinions out there. However, the discourse never became as loud as it did with the announcement of DLSS 5.
When it was revealed in March, many viewed Nvidia’s DLSS 5 as a “cheap AI filter” that removes the artistic integrity from a game. Since then, there’s been continued debate about the technology. But it’s here, and players are interested in seeing what it can do across all sorts of games.
Though the first game to officially support the feature is NBA 2K27—other games with official support will include EA Sports FC, Resident Evil Requiem, Starfield, and Hogwarts Legacy—modders have found a way to give users the ability to use DLSS 5 in any game on any RTX graphics card with the click of a button. And it’s quite simple to set up.
Before we get into that, however, it’s important to note that, as of writing, Nvidia only officially supports DLSS 5 on RTX 50 series graphics cards. Official support for the RTX 40 series is coming, but nothing’s been made official regarding a release date. And for those with even older graphics cards, Nvidia hasn’t mentioned adding support for RTX 30 series GPUs or older.
That’s a long-winded way to say you are following the next steps and walkthrough at your own risk on your machine. Also, this guide is specifically for those with Nvidia graphics cards.
How Is This Possible?
NBA 2K27 is the first, and currently only, game to support DLSS 5 at an official level. However, modders were able

Important Details
By injecting DLSS 5 into games, you are technically modding the games. Because of that, multiplayer games may detect the mod and flag you for cheating. If you play multiplayer games, it’s highly recommended that you not install DLSS 5 into the game.
It’s also important to mention that since this is an unofficial way to add the feature, you’ll likely have to update the DLSS 5 Swapper tool regularly as updates come for the technology. Just something to be aware of.
