Dead Island 2 Previews Coming Next Week – Early Gameplay Details Revealed

dead island 2 gameplay trailer

Insider Gaming sources have revealed some new and exciting information on what to expect from Dead Island 2 when it releases on April 21, 2023.

In the past couple of weeks, video game media outlets and content creators were given exclusive access to play the game ahead of releasing their impressions on the week of March 13, 2023. However, several anonymous sources have since provided some early information on what to expect.

Throwing things back to February 2022 to my YouTube video on the game, players will start off in a plane that is crashing into Beverley Hills. Sources have since revealed that this is where you will be able to pick one of the six playable characters in the game; Amy, Jacob, Dani, Ryan, Carla, or Bruno.

As expected and in classic Dead Island style, the game is apparently a lot of fun in terms of its gameplay and replayability – But the consensus among those who played was that the story wasn’t as compelling as it could have been. Ultimately though, this is a zombie game, and as long as you are satisfied with killing zombies with the game’s many different weapons, then all is well.

From different types of zombies to different ways of killing them, there seem to be a ton of different ways that you can replay the game for a lot of fun. In addition, a new skill card system is present, enabling you to redeem them for different skills/upgrades throughout the game.

As already officially mentioned, Dead Island 2 doesn’t have a traditional open world. Instead, the map is divided into individual segments that will have loading screens when moving from one area to the next.

Of course, it’s worth noting that you should probably wait until Monday to see what the media thought of the game for more in-depth detail (if you’re into that type of thing). But overall, from what we’ve heard at least, Dead Island 2 is shaping up to be most importantly, a fun game.

Dead Island 2 launches on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on April 21, 2023.
