Cronos Lazarus New Gameplay Details Revealed

Bloober Team has provided players with brand-new gameplay and story details for Cronos: Lazarus in their latest dev diary.

The latest dev diary episode for Cronos: Lazarus focuses on ‘Becoming the Warden’. The developers have provided players with an idea of their creative vision, new gameplay mechanics, and brand-new abilities they can use as one of the powerful characters from Cronos: A New Dawn.

Cronos Lazarus is Way More Action-Based Than the Original Title

At the beginning of the new dev diary, Bloober Team revealed their intention to return to the Cronos universe, allowing players to experience “this super strong character,” known as the Pathfinder. In Lazarus, the developers have placed a greater emphasis on the emotional and human aspects of the story. They explained that with Lazarus, their goal was to offer players “a different flavor, a different taste of the original game,” with a focus on more action gameplay.

Bloober Team explains that the more cautious gameplay of the original title has now changed with Cronos: Lazarus DLC, allowing players to take a more aggressive approach.

New Tools and Powers of Cronos: Lazarus

Teleportation

With the new gameplay video, the developers also revealed the new tools and abilities players can use in Cronos: Lazarus. The first to be revealed was ‘Teleportation’. This ability allows players to traverse through the levels more quickly and reach locations they could never reach as the Traveler. It’s also a game-changer in combat, allowing players to quickly position themselves in the enemy’s blind spot and take them down.

Decoy

Another new ability in Cronos Lazarus is Decoy, which allows the Pathfinder to deploy an image of himself to attract the enemies and then take them down. The ability works really well with Teleportation, allowing players to get a jump on their enemies, and it’s also great for crowd control.

New Weapon – Gladius

The latest addition to the player’s arsenal in Cronos Lazarus is the Gladius; we got to see it in action in the new gameplay video. It has been described as a “much deadlier version of the Dagger” from the original title.

Cronos Lazarus Narrative Details

The latest dev diary also provides narrative insights into Cronos Lazarus, along with new gameplay. The Pathfinder is on a mission alone for something deeply personal to him. There’s strong opposition from the Collective, and they have sent a new threat that is more dangerous than the orpans.

The new envoy of The Collective has been assigned the task of hunting down the Pathfinder. Confronting this foe will be challenging, as it has been specifically designed to hunt the Pathfinder. Players should expect the situation to “get bloody” at some point. This storyline can also be viewed as a tale of a hunter becoming the hunted.

Cronos Lazarus arrives for XBOX Series X/S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC in Fall 2026. Check out the latest dev diary below:
