According to a new report, Costco has decided to stop selling Xbox consoles at its stores.
Costco is one of the largest multinational membership warehouse club chains, offering a wide range of products from everyday essentials to luxury items, electronics, furniture, and more. It was reported earlier that Xbox consoles and accessories had stopped appearing on Costco’s website, and now a new report seemingly confirms this decision.
No More Xbox Consoles Available At Costco
As spotted by Windows Central, YouTuber Destin Legarie has posted about the Costco and Xbox fiasco on their X account (formerly Twitter). Legarie stated in a new post that they reached out to learn more about the situation and were told, “We don’t have any plans going forward to carry an Xbox console.” They added that it was a business decision and proceeded to talk about the deals they have for PlayStation and Switch consoles. Insider Gaming reached out for clarification on why they decided to stop selling the consoles.
On the topic of Xbox consoles, Microsoft announced price increases for all consoles this month, despite experiencing revenue growth. The Series S consoles saw a $20 increase, the Series X saw a $50 increase, and the price of the Series X 2TB Galaxy Edition was increased by $70. The company blamed “changes in the macroeconomic environment” for the price increases, and added that only US consoles will be impacted; the costs for headsets and controllers will remain the same.
