According to a report from Dealabs, new gameplay and details for multiplayer shooter Concord may emerge at the next PlayStation State of Play event.
The report claims that an upcoming announcement “should reveal the gameplay as well as all (or some) characters”.
Concord was first announced last year for PC and PlayStation 5, with a purely cinematic teaser. So, it would make sense for another reveal to line up with a PlayStation State of Play.
Firewalk Studios developed Concord as their debut project after joining PlayStation Studios in May 2023.
PlayStation has revealed little about the game, but did confirm it is a PvP multiplayer first-person shooter. It launches in 2024 but doesn’t have a concrete release date yet.
PlayStation’s next State of Play might premiere later this week, according to recent rumors that also leaked potential announcements.
These leaks do not mention Concord, but they did list a Death Stranding 2 announcement. This lines up with Dealabs’ previous claim that Death Stranding 2 news is imminent.
Dealabs also reported last week that a new version of Until Dawn could be announced soon for PC and PlayStation.
It would be a sensible move for PlayStation to group these announcements together. Last year’s State of Play was a bit divisive, but this year could include some major titles.
Today’s report from Dealabs also claims that Concord is “strongly inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy universe”.
Fans widely praised Eidos-Montréal’s Guardians of the Galaxy game. Each hero has their own abilities in that game, so it’s possible that Concord will also be a space-themed hero shooter.
After such a long wait, hopefully PlayStation reveals an in-depth gameplay overview alongside Concord’s cast of characters.
