Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns are two of the top names in WWE currently. They headlined two WrestleManias in a row, facing off for the WWE Championship. The WWE Superstars are also two cast members in the upcoming Street Fighter film. Rhodes is playing Guile while Reigns is playing Akuma.
Given their history, some fans wondered what it would look like when they crossed paths on the big screen in the upcoming film based on the Capcom franchise. However, Cody Rhodes is now revealing that he and Roman were intentionally kept apart on set.
Cody Rhodes Thinks Film Crew Thought He and Roman Reigns Would Fight On Set
In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cody Rhodes says he and Roman Reigns were only on set together one day, and they had a very mundane interaction.
Cody also claims that he believes Roman would corroborate his belief that those on-set thought they might actually fight for real.
“We had one day on set, and the way the set was, and he could probably reiterate this — I think they thought we were going to fight or have issues,” he said. “They were very cognizant on the radios of [saying], ‘Stepping out with Guile.’ [and] ‘Akuma will be coming on.’ They were very cognizant that we would not cross paths. We did, because I had to tell him the direction of one of the trailers. That was our only moment, and it was a very awkward, like the weirdest moment.”
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are not the only cast members who are World Champion professional wrestlers. Hirooki Goto, a New Japan Pro-Wrestling star, will be playing E. Honda. The movie will be coming out this October. Insider Gaming will continue to provide the latest updates on the film.
