Charlie Day Would Be Thrilled With a Luigi’s Mansion Movie

Charlie Day would love to star in a Luigi’s Mansion movie.

Charlie Day voices Luigi in both Super Mario Bros. movies. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie releases in just a few days, and the cast is doing a major media push to promote it. As part of the promotion, Day has commented on potentially starring in a Luigi’s Mansion spin-off movie.

Charlie Day Thinks Jump Scares in a Luigi’s Mansion Film Would Be Fun

Speaking in an interview with ScreenRant, Day reveals that he’s very interested in the possibility of starring in a Luigi-based spin-off. He also admits that, while it wouldn’t be a complete horror film for kids, he would enjoy some of the more spooky elements.

“I would be thrilled to do Luigi’s Mansion, just because it’s such a fun game. And not that you would make it like a horror movie for kids, but it could have some more sort of jump scares in it, which would be fun,” he said.

Keegan-Michael Key, who voices Toad in the films, and Anya Taylor-Joy, who voices Princess Peach, also shared their support of this becoming a reality.

The Luigi’s Mansion franchise is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. First released on the GameCube in 2001, the games have further established Luigi’s identity beyond just being Mario’s palette-swap brother.

Now, being an easily frightened hero has permeated his character and can be seen in Day’s performance in both Mario movies.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will premiere in theaters on April 1. Insider Gaming will continue to provide any news on the movie in the lead-up to its release.
