Capcom Reveals Resident Evil 9 Already Has Over 1 Million Wishlists

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 9, which will be called Resident Evil Requiem, has already garnered over one million wishlists.

Announced on the official Resident Evil X (formerly Twitter) account, the announcement read, “Requiem for the dead. Nightmare for the over one million of you who wishlisted #ResidentEvilRequiem! Thank you!”

While obviously not sales, Resident Evil 9 still has a solid eight months before it eventually releases, giving Capcom plenty of more time to market the game to the masses.

On launch, Resident Evil Village sold an impressive three million copies in its first four days of release, a number that Capcom will likely be eying to overtake with its next installment.

Insider Gaming’s Albert Perkins managed to get a hands-off preview of Resident Evil 9 at this year’s Summer Game Fest, which showed off and revealed plenty more details of what to expect with the game when it releases.

As for when we’ll see more of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom announced that the game will be at Gamescom 2025 for its first-ever hands-on public demo. For those not attending the event, we fully anticipate a new trailer to be shown at Opening Night Live.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch on February 27th, 2026, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
