A new announcement reveals that the upcoming Call of Duty NEXT event featuring Modern Warfare 4 will be hosted on August 21, 2026.
Call of Duty’s NEXT event is the developers’ annual live showcase for the upcoming installment of the series, where they showcase all the new additions. Past events have featured Black Ops 7’s round-based map, Black Ops 6’s omnimovement, Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer, and more. This time, the focus will be MW4 and its new additions.
Call of Duty NEXT Will Feature Live Modern Warfare 4 Gameplay
The latest blog post has provided players with the date for the upcoming Call of Duty NEXT event. During the event, players will see live gameplay, an in-depth briefing on the lineup of content coming to Modern Warfare 4’s Multiplayer, developer insights, and new reveals. Interestingly, the early access beta for the game will begin right after the NEXT event’s broadcast for the first time ever. Players can learn more about the beta details here.
Modern Warfare 4 Switch 2 Pre-Order Date Announced
In the same blog post, the developers also announced that Modern Warfare 4 pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 will kick off on August 26. Additionally, even though Switch 2 players won’t be able to participate in the early access beta, they can still take part in the open beta without pre-ordering the game. This will allow them to assess the title’s performance on the console before deciding whether to purchase the game.

I won’t be buying MW4 because they aren’t putting Zombies mode in it and countless people I know that are zombies players ain’t buying it.. Horrible idea for them not to add a zombies mode, after they 1st added a zombies to MW3, the zombies community grew massively and it led people to believe that zombies would start being included in every MW from there on out and so many players thought that it would have another open world zombies in it since that’s what attracted so many new players cause a lot don’t like round based. They’re gonna lose a ton of money off zombies only players that don’t buy this game.
