Call of Duty Mobile is Getting a New ‘Big’ Battle Royale Map and Gulag is Coming Back

During the recent inaugural episode of Inside CODM, Jeff Gullet, the Co-Head of Call of Duty Mobile at Activision, dropped two major bombshells. He revealed that there is another big-form battle royale map coming to Call of Duty Mobile, the likes of which will be unveiled soon, and Gulag is planned for a big return.

Call of Duty Mobile’s fourth season of the year, Eternal Prison, dropped just a few weeks back, and Gullet suggested that we’ll see more information about these upcoming changes during this year’s big anniversary season.

Call of Duty Mobile Changes Are Coming

Call of Duty Mobile remains the most popular COD title ever, when you look at the sheer number of downloads recorded by the team. It is pushing on the two billion download mark, and the folks at TiMi Studio Group and Activision never stop pumping this free-to-play shooter full of content.

This year, things are set to get even better for Call of Duty Mobile fans.

During the recent Inside CODM episode, which was the first of its kind, COD Mobile’s Co-Head, Jeff Gullet, explained that we’re getting one new and one returning spectacle later this year.

First up, there’s a new large-scale battle royale map:

The short answer here is yes, for sure. But here’s the thing. We’ve just released Rebirth Island, and we’re committed to expanding battle royale, so I can’t say anything today, but I will say that we might have more to share during our anniversary season later this year.

And then on the topic of the major returning feature, Gulag, Gullet said:

Yes, it is. I can’t say much more right now, but I can give you a definite yes, it is coming back.

Gulag is a great example of us hearing community feedback and adjusting accordingly. It was a big change from our dogtag revival system, but we saw a lot people disappointed when we removed it. I’d encourage everybody to let us know, not just the things they want to see changed, but also let us know the things that you like.

It wasn’t explained how often Inside CODM will take place, but it’ll be the place to go for the latest tidbits about what’s coming next in the world of COD Mobile.
