Call of Duty Devs Tease Capture the Flag Could Be Coming Back

As first reported by Charlie Intel, a Reddit thread reply from Sledgehammer Games hinted that Capture the Flag might return in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.

A Modern Warfare 3 subreddit invited fans to discuss content that they would like to make a return to the series. This included anything from previous guns to operators and modes.

One post in yesterday’s thread mentioned that Capture the Flag would be a terrific addition for Modern Warfare 3 in particular. Surprisingly, Sledgehammer Games replied on the thread, leaving a single emoji of watchful eyes.

Although Sledgehammer Games did not confirm anything officially, the Reddit response does seem promising.

Charlie Intel does point out that Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has a major update coming soon in April. If the game plans on introducing a returning game mode like Capture the Flag, that could be an ideal time.

Capture the Flag is a much older mode that hasn’t been seen in the series for a very long time. However, it’s a staple of the shooter genre that encourages more strategy without losing fast-paced action.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has ample new features that would benefit from Capture the Flag. There are also plenty of opportunities across the latest maps.

Dataminers also recently caught new images of Rebirth Island in Warzone. It seems that the upcoming updates could be full of fan service.

The most recent Call of Duty update, Season 2 reloaded, rolled out on March 6th. The mid-season update added a few new weapons, Zombies mode content, and more. However, next month is shaping up to be a major update that could win over longtime fans.
