Blue Box Game Studios has taken to Twitter to thank Hideo Kojima for addressing the conspiracies about Abandoned.
Abandonded was announced with a short teaser in 2021 as a title being developed for the PlayStation 5. Soon after the reveal, fan speculation began to suggest that the Abandoned project was a Silent Hill title in development, but the studio head of Blue Box, Hasan Kahraman, shut down those rumors.
However, rumors began to swirl suggesting that Hasan Kahraman was actually Hideo Kojima, simply because both names had the initials “HK”. Kojima himself would stay silent on the rumors, as would Blue Box.
In an episode of Kojima’s new Brain Structure podcast, Kojima finally addressed the rumors.
“I have never spoken with Hasan, the game is yet to be released”, Kojima said.
“I don’t think there’s much he can do or say that this point, but if he releases the game, people might understand, so maybe he should just hurry up and release it.” he continued.
Blue Box studios soon after took to Twitter to “thank” Kojima on address the conspiracies openly.
“It has been a burden and not cool for both fans and developers. We hope everyone can close this for good. We are working hard on Abandoned and we would like to thank you all for your patience!” Blue Box said.
In a follow-up Tweet, Blue Box stated “Also, we ask fans to stop harrassing Hideo Kojima regarding Abandoned messages. This is not acceptable and is not entertaining.”
Blue Box has disabled replies to the tweets, but Quote Retweets have shown the displeasure of fans.
“You know what could have avoided this? Stop hinting that you were working for him and just openly say Kojima is not involved from day one. But that would be TOO easy.” said Jontis on Twitter.
Kojima is currently teasing his next Kojima Productions title, just as new Overdose screenshots leaked online yesterday.
