Activision and Treyarch have finally released the last- and current-gen ports for Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. They’re available digitally in the PlayStation Store, and for those with PS Plus subscriptions, a deep discount is waiting for them.
One thing that users want to know is whether the Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports are cross-platform, given that they’ve dropped at the same time and they’re basically the same game. They haven’t been remastered and are very much the same as when they were released in 2010 and 2012, respectively.
Let’s find out if you can use crossplay on Black Ops and Black Ops 2.
Are The Black Ops Ports Crossplay on PlayStation?
No, the Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports are not cross-platform between PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. This is typically referred to as ‘cross-generation’, but it’s the same concept. Despite both of these games hitting the market at the same time, they’re separate versions of the game that cannot ‘talk’ to each other.
That means that if your friend has Black Ops 2 on PlayStation 4 and you have it on PlayStation 5, you cannot play it together.
Fortunately, everything else appears to be the same as it was more than 15 years ago. These games are ‘untainted’ by any bad remaster juju, and what you get is largely what you were offered all those years back.

How Much Do The Black Ops Ports Cost?
Both of the Black Ops ports cost $40 in the PlayStation Store, but PlayStation Plus subscribers can get a deep discount, making each game just $20. Additionally, the season pass is available for both games, again with a mirrored price of $30 apiece, or just $9.89 for PS Plus subscribers.
