Black Ops 1 and 2 Port Player Counts Dominating Black Ops 7, It’s Claimed

The recently released Black Ops 1 and 2 ports are allegedly beating Black Ops 7 in terms of overall player count, despite the ports being the OG games with next-to-no improvements, still being pricey, and only on limited platforms.

I recently covered the interesting reason why Black Ops 1 and 2 port players thought the live player count ticker had been removed from both games.

Charlie Intel has claimed that the ports are doing very well, which would support this further.

You knew it was coming, as did Activision, which is probably why the company doesn’t want anyone knowing how many people are on the new CoD ports.

According to the Charlie Intel X account—via unnamed sources—the 15-year-old-plus ports are besting Black Ops 7:

‘The Call of Duty: Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports on PlayStation have more players online than Black Ops 7 does combined on all platforms, sources say.’

Charlie Intel has long been one of the main reporters of Call of Duty news for years, so it makes sense that the page would have people close to the company.

I would still advise you to take the information with a pinch of salt.

Let’s say it is true: 1) It’s not that much of a shock, given how much love there is for the OG Black Ops games. 2) Black Ops 7 won’t go down as one of the most revered or memorable CoD games ever, and this is a good excuse for players to try something else during the wait for Modern Warfare 4.

It is fascinating, though, with the Black Ops port only being available on PlayStation 4 and 5, and Black Ops 7 being on five mainstream platforms.

Getting to see the numbers would be interesting, and we’ll see how long the OG Black Ops hype lasts.

Have you bought either of the ports? When did you stop playing Black Ops 7, if at all? Let us know via the official Insider Gaming Discord Server.
