Activision is delivering new ports of the first two Call of Duty Black Ops games. Whether you’re on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, it’s important to know where and how you can enjoy the Black Ops 1 and 2 Ports.
The Black Ops 1 and 2 port gossip was more than just a rumor. It was revealed in June 2026 that Black Ops and Black Ops 2 ports were coming. On the other hand, fans aren’t as clear on WHERE they’re coming to, which I’m clearing up for you today.

Can You Play Black Ops 1 and 2 Ports on PS5 or PS4?

Yes, we know for sure that the Black Ops 1 and 2 ports will be available to buy on PlayStation 4 and PS5 once they come out in July.
Treyarch‘s initial announcement made it clear that ‘Black Ops and Black Ops 2 are being ported to PlayStation.’ Obviously, by putting PlayStation in a broader sense, this means you should be able to buy them on both PS4 and PS5.

Last-gen support is ending with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, but as BLOPS 1 and 2 are ports instead of modern-day remasters, the tech is still there to ensure they run great on PlayStation 4.
Can You Play Black Ops 1 and 2 Ports on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One?
Right now, it doesn’t seem like you can play the new Black Ops 1 and 2 ports on either the Xbox One or the superior Xbox Series X|S devices.
Curiously, neither Treyarch nor Activision has mentioned anything about the Black Ops 1 and 2 ports coming to Xbox. PlayStation players get to benefit from this, even though Sony doesn’t have an exclusivity agreement with Call of Duty.
Go figure.
Can You Play Black Ops 1 and 2 Ports on PC?
The same fate falls on PC players as it does on the Xbox; you can’t play the new Black Ops 1 and 2 ports on a computer.
The only way you can play older Black Ops games on PC is by buying and playing the originals.

The slightly spruced-up ports are being reserved for PlayStation.
Can You Play Black Ops 1 and 2 Ports on Nintendo Switch or Switch 2?
Despite the improved relationship between Call of Duty and Nintendo, the ports aren’t coming to Switch 2, as it stands.
There’s a chance that the ports could come to Xbox, PC, or Nintendo Switch in the future, but for now, they are being specially released on PlayStation hardware, and that’s it.
You’ll hear about any other platform ports here first at Insider Gaming.
Let’s not think about the fact that the Black Ops 1 launch trailer is now 15 years old! Enjoy it as though it were yesterday.
