One of the biggest points of feedback from the Battlefield 6 Open Beta was the movement. Some enjoyed the rapid nature of sliding, jumping, and other mini-exploits, but many in the BF community didn’t appreciate this as much. The latest Battlefield 6 Labs Test implemented movement penalties to restrict these maneuvers, and now we can see the changes properly.
Movement feels like a two-way street—there’s no middle option. You either like realistic movement, or you want the faster, arcadey tricks that create a skill gap. Battlefield 6 veered toward the latter in the Open beta, and it drew negative opinions. EA acknowledged this was an issue and made changes before Battlefield Labs resumed.
Battlefield 6 Movement Penalties Are Real

Thanks to a video shared by @EndersFPS (courtesy of TheEkwah), we can see how the new movement penalties have really impacted Battlefield 6.
Attempting to fire after jumping results in bullets that literally go anywhere. Jumping and peeking are things of the past, and your gun will flail wildly like a balloon in the wind.
EA’s original comments said: “There is now a greater penalty for consecutive jumps, which lowers jump height when jumps are spammed. Firing while jumping or sliding will result in increased inaccuracy,” and it shows.
You only have to see comments and quote messages on this video to see how this has similarly divided the community and created a new layer of discourse.
The #Battlefield6 movement nerfs in action. Totally unwarranted, completely overnerfed.
This is where we ask you, how did you find the movement in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta? Are these new nerfs too extreme? Let us know via the Insider Gaming forum. It’ll be interesting to see if the movement is tweaked again between now and launch.
