Battlefield dataminer temporyal has revealed details on what he believes will be in the Battlefield 2042 liquidators event in mid-October.
According to our own sources, Battlefield 2042 The Liquidator event is scheduled for October 10th, but we’ll update the article if this changes.
The description for the event is:
“When a competitor threatens their business, the Dark Market sends their Liquidators – a vicious hit squad that specializes in “involuntary asset liquidation”.
“Your job is to dissolve enemy squads from the battlefield and capture areas critical to the Dark Market’s bottom line”, it continues.
Temporyal has said that the event will include new Conquest map layouts, an 8v8 or 16v16 mode called “Tactical Conquest”, and special rewards unlocked by earning ribbons.
In addition, datamnines from Temporyal have uncovered what we might expect to see in terms of solider cosmetics coming to the event, too.
The Battlefield 2042 liquidators event is likely the last major patch before Season 3, where DICE will be making changes to the games specialist system.
In an August development update, it was said “The arrival of Specialists in Battlefield 2042 has been polarising. We have heard you. So, in Season 3 we’ll be moving Specialists into the classic and familiar Battlefield class system. They’ll have traits available to all Specialists within a given class, with existing open gadgets and throwables split between classes to fit their role.”
“Our initial thinking is this breakdown, but this is just the start of the discussion. We want to hear more from you. Specialists are not being removed from Battlefield 2042, but this evolution connecting them to the class system is one we know many of you have asked for.
“This is a significant change from us development-wise, which is why we are taking the time to get it right. And so, we’ll bring it during Season 3.”, it continued.
UPDATE: EA has confirmed the liquidator’s event will start on October 11th.
