Baldur’s Gate 3 is going to release on Xbox this year after all
Originally, it was revealed that Baldur’s Gate 3 wouldn’t be coming to Xbox Series X|S until next year at the earliest due to technology limitations. Those limitations included the game needing to have the same features on the Xbox Series X and S such as split-screen coop.
However, after meeting with Xbox boss Phil Spencer, Larian Studios CEO Swen Vinckie says that the game is coming to the platform.
“Super happy to confirm that after meeting [Phil Spencer] yesterday, we’ve found a solution that allows us to bring Baldur’s Gate 3 to Xbox players this year still, something we’ve been working towards for quite some time,” Vinckie said.

“All improvements will be there, with split-screen coop on Series X. Series S will not feature split-screen coop, but will also include cross-save progression between Steam and Xbox Series”.
No release date for the game on Xbox has been confirmed yet. If you can’t wait to play, you can get it on PC today where it has seen nearly 900,000 concurrent players, or pick it up for PlayStation 5 on September 6.

Yes, give as many exceptions for the Series S as you can, if it means more third party dev support.
Glad to hear BG3 is coming for the XSX|S. I’ll wait to buy to see which console will have better performance.
