Embark Studios has just deployed Patch 1.20.0 in ARC Raiders, nerfing one of the most overpowered weapons in the game and adding a few more customization elements. The Il Toro has been the bane of some players’ lives for the longest time, mostly because it can slam you from a ludicrous distance for a homemade shotgun, but that’s (hopefully) a thing of the past.
With this update, players can also access the Rawhide Outfit and two new haircuts, building on the recent addition of beards and moustaches to ARC Raiders.
Cutting Down the ARC Economy
Embark Studios has pushed out 1.20.0, a minor ARC Raiders patch that adds two new haircuts, a sweet outfit, and a few balancing-based adjustments.
The heart of the update centers on managing the Il Toro shotgun, which has been viciously overpowered in recent weeks.
Per the update notes:
This is an adjustment many of you requested. We have tuned the Il Toro to address its DPS and effectiveness at range, especially when combined with a choke. We’re also making some changes so it performs more like a weapon of its rarity (less versatile at lower upgrade levels and more dependent on upgrades and mods).
Most notably, fire-rate and reload time have been reduced, which will make it more important to fully utilize positioning, cover, and timing to defeat your opponents. We will of course continue to keep a close eye on this to see how it plays out in practice, and make additional adjustments when needed.
Everything from pellet damage to dispersion has been adjusted in the 1.20.0 patch, reducing the effectiveness of this point-blank nightmare, which had become less point-blank in the last few weeks. For instance, the reload time for the Il Toro has been increased from 4.3 to 5.7 seconds, which is a considerable jump.
Also, the selling price of Energy Clips has been adjusted after Embark Studios noticed how lucrative crafting them had become. They’re now selling for just 200 coins, down from 1000 coins. That’s a massive decrease, and it’s because of the ‘unintentional’ market value they generated following a recent update.
Embark also fixed a pesky audio bug tied to destroyed Comets and Fireballs, adjusted a wall-clipping bug in the new Controlled Access Zone on Dam, and tweaked more collision issues across Spaceport.
The team also revealed that a new Wasp Hunter Set is coming soon:

That’s about it for 1.20.0, but the game’s most major update yet sits on the near horizon. In April, we’ll be getting our first new ARC Raiders map since Stella Montis was released, and a new large-scale ARC enemy will enter the game.
