2) Scope

This policy covers the App. The website and forum have their own privacy pages; this one applies only to the App.

3) Data we collect

  • Account & login: email, username, password (if applicable), auth tokens; social login identifiers (Apple/Google/Facebook).
  • Device & app: device model, OS version, App version, language/region, basic diagnostics.
  • Identifiers (by consent/setting): Advertising ID (IDFA/GAID) only if ads personalization is enabled (if/when offered); push token for notifications.
  • Usage & events (by consent): analytics events (e.g., screens viewed, post/article reads, feature usage).
  • Crash reports (PII-free): error types, stack traces, device/app context (no names, emails, message bodies, or tokens).
  • User content (Forum): UGC processed by the Forum under its rules.
  • Location: Geolocation is OFF by default. If ads personalization is enabled in future, only coarse location may be used where lawful and supported.

4) How we use data

  • Provide the App, authentication, and security.
  • Show ads and sponsored placements (personalized only with your consent, if offered; otherwise contextual or generic).
  • Send content notifications (new posts/podcasts) if turned on.
  • Send marketing notifications only if you opt in.
  • Improve the App via analytics if you opt in.
  • Diagnose and fix issues via crash reporting (PII-free).
  • Moderate and enforce community rules for UGC.

5) Legal bases

We rely on Contract (to provide the App/account), Consent (ads personalization, analytics, marketing notifications, optional location), and Legitimate interests (security, anti-fraud, service integrity). You can withdraw consent in the App settings at any time.

6) Ads, analytics, crash & notifications

  • Ads (our own ad server / placements): we may display ads, sponsored content, or promotions using our own ad server and tools (for example, a Revive-based server or in-app ads list). If we offer personalized ads, they will only run with your consent; otherwise ads are contextual/non-personalized.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics): collected only if you opt in.
  • Crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry): always on and configured to avoid PII.
  • Notifications: content notifications are controlled by your App/OS settings; marketing notifications require separate opt-in. Push tokens are deleted on logout, opt-out, or 90 days of inactivity.

7) Children & teens

You must be 16 or older to use the App. The App is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If we learn that someone under 16 is using the App, we may delete the account or request proof of age.

8) Sharing your data (categories)

  • Internal ads & delivery: our own ad server and related hosting/infrastructure.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics / Firebase Analytics (if enabled).
  • Crash reporting: Firebase Crashlytics, Sentry.
  • Push: APNs (Apple) and FCM (Google).
  • Authentication providers: Apple, Google, Facebook.
  • Hosting/infrastructure/security providers: as needed to run the App.

We do not sell your personal data. We only “share” data for any targeted advertising if you explicitly opt in to ads personalization (if/when offered).

9) International transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country (e.g., the UK, EU, US). Where required, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK IDTA.

10) Retention

  • Account data: while your account is active + 12 months after deletion.
  • Analytics events (if enabled): up to 14 months.
  • Crash logs: up to 90 days.
  • Push tokens: deleted on logout/opt-out/90 days inactivity.
  • Server logs/IPs: up to 30 days.

11) Your choices & rights

  • Manage consent for Ads personalization, Analytics, and Marketing notifications in App settings.
  • Control content notifications via App and device settings.
  • Opt out of personalized ads (if available) to receive contextual ads.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of your data via the App or [email protected].

12) Regional rights

  • EEA/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR): access, rectify, erase, restrict/oppose processing, portability, withdraw consent.
  • Brazil (LGPD): confirm processing, access, correct, anonymize/block/delete, portability, withdraw consent.
  • Japan (APPI): access/correction/deletion within legal limits; opt out of certain uses.
  • US (CCPA/CPRA): access, delete, correct, and opt out of “sale”/“sharing” for targeted ads (we do not sell your data; any sharing for targeted ads would only occur with opt-in).

13) Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (TLS in transit, access controls, monitoring) to protect your data. No system is 100% secure.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you in-App. You may be asked to review and accept the new version to continue using the App.
