Fnatic has officially confirmed the departure of Emir ‘Alfajer’ Beder from its Valorant team ahead of the VCT 2027 season.
The Turkish pro’s contract expired with the VCT EMEA team after initially joining them midway through the 2022 season.
Now, according to reports by Sheep Esports, Alfajer has agreed to join Gentle Mates’ new roster.
It’s also believed that former Fnatic IGL Jake ‘Boaster’ Howlett will join him in the move.
Alfajer Says Goodbye to Fnatic
Alfajer posted an emotional goodbye to the organisation, detailing how he has grown up since joining as a 16-year-old:
“I am not usually a person who can write very emotional messages, but I would like to thank Fnatic for who they helped me become.
“All the emotions we experienced together developed me as a human being, as an esports player, and added beauty to me in every sense.
“I have experienced unforgettable moments in my life, and each of them will remain special. I would like to thank all the fans who supported us and supported me so far.”

He also credited Fnatic’s team director Colin ‘CoJo’ Johnson for helping the development of his career.
Together with Fnatic, Alfajer won three VCT EMEA titles and two international trophies.
They won VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo and Valorant Masters Tokyo 2023, earning the MVP award from VLR.gg in the latter.
The 2026 season was the first year that Alfajer and Fnatic failed to qualify for an international Valorant tournament.
