A new unannounced survival game is coming from Blizzard in 2027.
According to the ArtStation profile of Blizzard’s principal/lead environment artist Dan John Cox, he is currently working as the Lead Environment Artist on the unannounced game.
UPDATE – It’s now been said by the user that the 2027 date is inaccurate. Insider Gaming believes that the announcement of this project is likely to be made soon.
As far as what this game could be, there really is no information aside from what the profile says. We don’t know if it’ll be a new IP or a game from an existing IP at the company.
Insider Gaming did reach out to Blizzard but was told by a spokesperson that there was nothing to reveal or discuss.
Right now, Blizzard continues to focus on Diablo 4 with the game’s second season set to start on October 17. The company is also working on more content for World of Warcraft and Overwatch.
There are also rumors that StarCraft 3 could be in development, based on what Jez Corden said in a response to fans on Twitter back in July.
There’s also the overarching attempt by Microsoft to close its purchase of Activision Blizzard.
