Is Gray Zone Warfare Worth It? Pricing Structure, Explained

Gray Zone Warfare was released way back in April 2024, emerging as an all-new extraction shooter with a unique operating model. It was centered around a massive open-world environment, which, over time, has evolved, ebbed, and flowed. It’s now a PvE-first tactical shooter with more sandbox elements than ever before, and the game’s core identity has shifted.

That’s all well and good, but ultimately, is Gray Zone Warfare worth it? This is a premium title with a full-bore price tag, but not a high one, admittedly. If you’re on the fence about this tactical shooter, read on. We’ve broken down the Gray Zone Warfare price structure and answered, definitively, if it’s worth the investment.

How Much Does Gray Zone Warfare Cost?

Gray Zone Warfare uses a tiered pricing structure, and as you can imagine, the more you pay, the more you get.

Here’s the model:

  • Base Game: $39.99
  • Tactical Edition: $67.99
  • Elite Edition: $94.99
  • Supporter Edition: $119.99

(Prices accurate at the time of publishing)

With each higher edition, the ‘starting equipment’ you get becomes more expansive as a bundle. You also get more starting money in your wallet, a larger locker for storing loot and items, and a bigger secure lockbox that works as a ‘safe pocket’ in the game world.

Naturally, the Supporter Edition offers the biggest bonuses. You get a 10×60 locker, a 3×3 lockbox, exclusive clothing items, a special name, a badge, and the highest tier of starting equipment and most money.

What most people do is buy the base game and then upgrade later if they decide to spend more time in Lamang and want more bonuses.

It’s also worth stressing that, every time Gray Zone Warfare wipes, your ‘starter equipment’ comes back.

Should You Buy Gray Zone Warfare?

Gray Zone Warfare represents a relatively unparalleled experience in the tactical shooter space. You’re given an enormous open-world map, hundreds of quests, either PvE or PvEvP servers, and a dense helping of world-building and storytelling mechanics.

There’s an extraction model, a tactical shooter vibe, some survival elements, and they’re all bundled up nicely and presented in a gorgeous package that looks phenomenal on the surface.

And what’s better is you’re getting in halfway up the ladder. MADFINGER Games has plenty to bring to Gray Zone Warfare, and the roadmap that’s set up runs for a long time. The next major update, 0.4, is set to be an absolute game-changer.

If you were on the fence, I’d firmly advocate moving off it and securing your copy of Gray Zone Warfare.
