Whether you love them or hate them, the modern-day Animus sections have been present in AC for nearly two decades, and leaks have revealed to us that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced isn’t making them walk the plank.
The bridge between Assassin’s Creed 3 and 4 saw a continuation of the current-day Animus sections, only this time, Desmond Miles was replaced by an Abstergo employee. The Animus is very much a marmite aspect of Assassin’s Creed, and the recent presentation confirms it’s also getting a fresh coat of paint.
Animus Confirmed For Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced
The leaked Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced presentation is how we learned about the game’s release date, and also how we know that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced doesn’t include DLC or multiplayer.
The original Black Flag saw you take control of an Abstergo worker as you explored the facility, worked at a desk, and more. Many players still didn’t like the disconnect, taking you away from the main swashbuckling gameplay everyone was eager to enjoy.
From the leaked presentation, we’ve learned that Ubisoft has made some modern changes to the Animus parts of Resynced.
One of the devs speaking about the game said:
Today, the modern day has evolved. For Black Flag Resynced, we have approached it in a way that focuses on Edward’s journey, while still connecting his memories to the Animus. The modern day in Black Flag Resynced will feature new moments that focus on Edward’s internal struggle.”
It’s unclear if we’ll be controlling an Abstergo employee or even revisiting the facility at all. What we do know is that Resynced will definitely include ties to the Animus and modern-day sections, and here’s hoping they’ve been streamlined in a way that doesn’t detract from enjoying Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.
