Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Coming in 2027

Bandai Namco has officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. First revealed as Age 1000 in January. Many players initially expected the game to be a follow-up to Dragon Ball Online, a 2010 MMORPG, but it has now been confirmed to be the next Xenoverse title.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 was initially leaked in February after a social media blunder on Bandai Namco’s Southeast Asian YouTube page. Now, however, Bandai has revealed the full trailer and announced that the game is coming in 2027.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Trailer Reveal

The first trailer for the next Xenoverse game was nearly 4 minutes long and featured English voice acting for Bulma, as well as several stand-ins for custom character creations. Of course, the Xenoverse line is all about players creating their own characters and inserting them into the Dragon Ball Z universe.

The Game Features Original Work From Akira Toriyama

Despite his unfortunate passing in 2024, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 will feature work from the creator of the Dragon Ball series, Akira Toriyama.

It had previously been stated that work on the project began in the late 2010s and that more than half a decade had been invested in the game, including never-before-seen original characters from Toriyama and key world-building elements. His name is even featured early in the trailer.

Although Bulma is the only mainstay Dragon Ball character featured in the trailer, Piccolo is also teased for a second. In one shot, around the 30-second mark, you can see what looks to be Piccolo’s cape from the back.

It will have been a full decade since the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 by the time this new game releases. The last title was released in October 2016 and has received several quality-of-life updates to ensure its longevity.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is set for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam in 2027. Insider Gaming will continue to monitor the story and report any updates as more information becomes available.
