Nekki has released an all-new trailer for SPINE, the upcoming single-player gun-fu title that promises to be incredibly high-octane and energetic. SPINE doesn’t have a release date just yet, but the team has busied itself this week uncovering new content, including deeper customization, and most recently, the backstory about the game’s setting, Tensor City.
SPLIT is an all-out action title with frantic combat sequences that alter perspectives as the game unravels, to keep things fresh and cinematic. It features a ‘rebellious’ protagonist, Redline, who is hellbent on taking down an autocratic AI regime in the hunt for her kidnapped sibling.
SPINE’s Tensor City Looks Intense
In a short trailer published today by Nekki, SPLIT’s setting was given a slightly deeper dive. The developer revealed the inherent issues with the city, which is plagued by corruption, crime, and class disparity. For many, it’ll be reminiscent of Cyberpunk 2077’s Night City, and that’s definitely a good thing.
While SPINE is a linear title, the shifting perspectives and open-ended combat sequences promise that no two scenes will unfold the same way twice.
That’s mostly thanks to Nekki’s Cascadeur animation engine.

Earlier this week, Nekki also revealed a physical edition of SPINE is inbound, courtesy of Fireshine Games. In a statement, SPINE’s game director, Dmitry Pimenov, said:
Fireshine Games is one of the leading names in physical publishing — behind titles like Balatro, Overcooked!, Lies of P, and Jurassic World Evolution. Finding the right partner mattered, and we’re excited to collaborate with Fireshine on bringing SPINE to players worldwide.
SPINE is set to drop at some point on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms, and reportedly, it has already secured a spot on more than half a million wishlists.
