It was just discovered by eagle-eyed gamers that Starfield has received a rating on Nintendo Switch 2. The rating surfaced on the Taiwan Entertainment Software Rating Information board, alongside the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series XS versions of the game. Bizarrely, it bore a release date of April 15th, which is today.
The PlayStation 5 version of Starfield also has a release date of April 15th on the platform, which is wrong, so it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt at the moment.
Is Starfield Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?
Earlier this year, a rumor emerged suggesting that Starfield’s Switch 2 release would be delayed. It was later mentioned that it might not come out at all. That claim surfaced just weeks before the game launched on PlayStation 5. Until now, we’ve had nothing concrete on Starfield potentially coming to Switch 2.
Now, thanks to a report from UniversoNintendo.com, we know that the Taiwanese ratings board for video games has listed Starfield on Switch 2, even if that listing has clear discrepancies. Thanks to Wario64 on socials for the spot.
Unfortunately, fans of the space-based RPG are less than enthused about the idea of Starfield potentially launching on Nintendo Switch 2. Just days ago, the game dropped on PlayStation 5, and ever since, it has been plagued by performance issues and rampant crashes. These critical concerns prompted Bethesda Game Studios to formally speak out on social media.
It’s a reasonable assumption that it would run worse on Nintendo Switch 2, given the obvious disparity in technical capabilities.
