Eidos Montreal To Lay Off 124 Employees

Eidos Montreal is laying off over 100 people in a round of mass layoffs. The latest set marks the 4th round of layoffs at the studio since March 2025.

In a LinkedIn post on Monday, the company announced a “reduction in workforce” that affects 124 Eidos Montreal employees. These layoffs, they say, are “a result of changing project needs and impacts across production and support teams.”

“We are deeply grateful to the team members impacted; this decision is not a reflection of their talent, dedication, or performance,” the studio said. “Supporting those impacted with care and respect remains our priority, while ensuring continuity for the teams moving forward.”

In addition to the 124 employees, studio head David Anfossi is also leaving the company.

“We thank David for his contributions and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” Eidos said. “A transition plan is underway, and further updates will be shared as new leadership is finalized.”

At the time of the layoffs, Eidos Montreal had been working on several projects, including a new Alien game. It’s currently unknown, however, what the status of these games is. Insider Gaming is working on gathering more details on the games in development and will provide an update once it becomes available.
