Team Heretics has signed former Fnatic and Misfits Gaming midlaner Fabian ‘Febiven’ Diepstraten as a positional coach for its LEC team.
Febiven had a very strong playing career, winning an EU LCS title with Fnatic and famously solokilling Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok at MSI 2025.
The Dutchman recently transitioned to coaching and helped NORD Esports in the NLC last year.
Now, he will be helping promising rookie Tolga ‘Serin’ Ölmez, who had an impressive debut split in LEC Versus.
Various former pros have joined LEC teams this year, with Febiven’s former Misfits teammate Nubar ‘Maxlore’ Sarafian becoming a positional coach for GIANTX.
Additionally, Movistar KOI brought in Barney ‘Alphari’ Morris as an assistant coach to help the team’s laning phase.
And Fnatic signed Andrei ‘Odoamne’ Pascu recently to finally add a third member of staff to its LEC coaching team.
Team Heretics Make Various LoL Roster Changes
Team Heretics had a decent start to the year after qualifying for the LEC Versus Playoffs. However, from there, the team wasn’t able to find a win and was promptly eliminated.
Team Heretics is also the only LEC team to make a roster change ahead of the LEC Spring Split after signing Korean support Han ‘Way’ Gil in a straight swap after sending Paul ‘Stend’ Lardin to MISA Esports.
Additionally, the organisation has made a change to Team Heretics Academy, its secondary LoL team which competes in Spain.
Korean toplaner Baek ‘Mihile’ Sang-hwi has had to step down from competing after suffering from physical issues since the start of the year.
In his place, the academy has signed Antero Trindade ‘Papiteero’ Baldaia from Team Phantasma, the team that finished second in Greece’s Hellenic Legends League.
Team Heretics Academy were eliminated from EMEA Masters Winter earlier this week after losing to MISA and the organisation’s former support Stend.
