Embark Studios has today deployed the 1.19.0 update for ARC Raiders, adding a new outfit, two new hairstyles, and implementing a range of bug and exploit fixes. The team has also started refunding players for any loadouts lost during last week’s intense server issues, which caused thousands of players to successfully extract from a raid but still lose their equipment.
As ARC Raiders doesn’t have an insurance feature, like Escape from Tarkov, that meant that their lost goods stayed lost. Until now, that is. Embark Studios is reviewing the situation and slowly feeding back to players what they lost, but they’ve stressed this is a one-off action.
Don’t Expect Insurance in the Future
In the patch notes for the 1.19.0 update in ARC Raiders, Embark Studios explained:
Last week’s server issues caused some of you to lose your loadouts even after a successful extraction. We are reviewing these cases and will return items where possible over the next few days. While we do not normally offer compensation for every incident, this outage impacted a large number of players, so we are making an exception. Thanks for bearing with us while we sorted it out.
While you’re likely to get your lost loadouts back this time, it’s only because such a significant number of people experienced issues that the action is being made by Embark Studios.
The team was clear in that this is an extenuating circumstance, and they don’t concern themselves with making reparations when they have an incident, which seems to be every week, at this point. It’s no big secret that ARC Raiders is one of the most-played games in the world right now, but the title has server issues more often than most competing games out there.
Additionally, the 1.19.0 update added some fresh cosmetics and nine bug or exploit fixes. That includes addressing the ‘Comet bug’ that rendered the new ARC enemy unlootable, and an exploit that allowed users to stash Snaphooks in their safe pocket when playing with a keyboard.
