A new budget MacBook is entering the market.
One of Apple’s strengths is its ability to offer an entry point into its ecosystem for all family members at various price levels. Its latest tech announcement, the $599 MacBook Neo, aims to provide an affordable option for those who want to experience a MacBook without spending too much on “Pro” technology.
This new device will be available starting Wednesday, March 11, exactly one week from today.
iPhone Chip Powers the New MacBook Neo
The A18 Pro chip, launched in 2024 alongside the iPhone 16 Pro models, powers this new device. The marketing says it allows users to “breeze through their go-to apps and AI activities.”
There are two options for the brand-new Neo. The more affordable $599 models are available in Silver and a “Blush” shade of pink. The higher-priced “Citrus” green and Indigo models cost $699. The more expensive models offer 512 GB of storage instead of 256. Other than that, the tech specs are the same. Both models come with 8 GB of RAM, 2 USB-C ports, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Regarding battery life, Apple claims users will get up to 16 hours of video streaming and 11 hours of wireless web browsing.
