Simpsons Hit & Run and Prototype developer, Radical Entertainment, has relaunched as New Radical Games.
There have been almost no updates on the Simpson Hit & Run and Prototype franchises for a very long time. The last we heard about Prototype was some potential evidence that a remaster could be in the works. We also saw a mod that took Simpson Hit & Run. Now, the developer behind both these games has relaunched.
Simpsons Hit & Run and Prototype Studio Relaunch as New Radical Games
Spotted on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, Radical Entertainment has relaunched as New Radical Games, a mix of the old company and Hothead. The new development studio will have Ian Wilkinson, the co-founder of Radical Entertainment, as CEO, and Tim Bennison, a former COO at Capcom Game Studio Vancouver, will join as COO of New Radical Games.
Regarding services, New Radical Games will offer work-for-hire for full game development, mobile & console development, co-development, porting, and remastering. They have also listed all their games, including The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, Scarface: The World is Yours, Crash: Tag Team Racing, Crash: Mind Over Mutant, Crash of the Titans, and Prototype.
Hothead also has a lot of games under its belt, including Kill Shot Bravo, Hero Hunters, Superhit Baseball, Box Office Tycoon, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI mobile, Big Win NHL, Big Win Soccer, Big Win Basketball, Big Win Baseball, and Big Win Football.
In other news, the developer of Styx has thrown shade at Ubisoft’s stealth brands. Additionally, the Highguard developer, Wildlight Entertainment, has been funded by the Chinese company Tencent. Radical is still around owned by Activision. Also a Protoype remake is being made. These guys need money maybe partner with EA. Hit & Run needs a remake cel shaded
Here comes everyone asking for Hit & Run, Scarface and so on as if it’s the exact same developers from twenty years ago.
First things first… They needd to contact and hire the youtuber who remaded Hit N Run in Unreal Engine like a year or two ago. Buy his build, get him paid, and have a game to start making the studio some money faster thsan any other game studio has ever done it before lol. Because the guy made a beautiful, fully working, Hit N Run that got hit with the Cease N Desist right after he finished making it.
Then most definitely they need to make the Prototype Remake/Remaster a thing of reality asap. See how much traction that project gets, and if it does get the eyes on it that I think it could really deserve if made properly, then hit up Xbox for the chance to create a Prototype 3.
Now that I am thinking about it, I am sure they would be able to get a Game Pass deal for the Remake/Remaster of Prototype 1. Which is marketed correctly could get so many more eyes on the game, and would make Prototype 3 a much more viable product.
If they have enough people working there… they need to get a ScarFace Remake/Remaster out ASAP!!! I played and beat the game on my Steam Deck last Summer, and the game is so good for how old it is! I would buy a remaster/remake 100%. I remember an article on this site claiming there was a Steam Page for a remaster sometime in October or something…. And that got me juiced, with the studio coming back, that is another project they need to get ahold of the modders or whoever was working on it recently and get them involved to get that project out and some money into the studio
