Xenoblade Chronicle X: Definitive Edition has shadow dropped for the Switch 2, and a physical release is coming too.
Monolith Soft developed Xenoblade Chronicles X for the Wii U, which was released in 2015. The action RPG features an open world on the planet Mira, where players are tasked with leading the BLADE unit to defend the human survivors and uncover the planet’s secrets. Now, this title has been enhanced for the latest generation of consoles.
Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is Available Now for Switch 2
Nintendo has shadow dropped Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for the Switch 2, and a physical version is also releasing on April 16, 2026. The Nintendo Switch 2 edition features faster frame rates (up to 60 FPS) and enhanced resolution (up to 4K). Players can purchase it now for $59.99.
In Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, players must rebuild humanity on the planet Mira while battling massive, weaponized robots. The Definitive Edition includes additional story elements that enhance the gameplay experience. As players progress through the story, they gain the ability to pilot Skells, powerful machines that can fly, transform into vehicles for faster overland travel, and engage in combat with customizable weapons and armor.
The planet of Mira is vast and home to bizarre and beautiful flora and fauna. Players will have to explore this map to its full extent while collecting resources and finding fellow survivors to help rebuild New Los Angeles. What’s more, players can join squads of up to 32 players in multiplayer sessions.
